Steven A. Field, MD, teaches biotechnology courses at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. He also works as a science teacher with Hillsborough County Public Schools and teaches classes including AP biology and honors anatomy and physiology. Previously, Steven A. Field, MD, served as deputy director of the occupational medicine residency at the University of South Florida (USF) and the medical director of Doctors’ Urgent Care Clinic in St. Petersburg. Additionally, he sat on the executive board for the Florida Association of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and was a member of committees within the organization.
Dr. Field earned a master’s degree in neurophysiology from Georgetown University, which he attended on a graduate scholarship. He completed a master of science in public health from the USF College of Public Health in 1999, more than 25 years after earning his medical degree. While studying toward his MD at Hahnemann Medical College, he also was class president. His clinical training includes an internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery, and an occupational medicine residency.
