Instructional Effectiveness Specialist
Suzana Ustabecir is an instructional effectiveness specialist working with the Chicago Public Schools system. In this position she has achieved notable successes, including in the establishment of instructional focus teams which resulted in improved scores on Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) math and reading tests for students between the third and eighth grades. Prior to taking on her role with the Chicago Public Schools system, Suzana Ustabecir spent nearly a decade as a principal and acting assistant principal. She has an additional six years of experience as a math and science teacher of middle grade students, during which time she oversaw the improvement of student Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) math and science test scores, among other in-class accomplishments.
Suzana Ustabecir received her BA in elementary education and chemistry from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. She has also studied educational leadership at National Louis University, earning a master of education in administration and supervision. She is a member of the New Leaders for New Schools Group.
