Travis Curtright is the Chair of Humanities and Liberal Studies at Ave Maria University. He has a doctorate in Literature from the University of Dallas and professional training from the American Shakespeare Center and the historic Second City in Chicago. He is also Professor of Humanities and Literature at Ave Maria, as well as Editor for Moreana: A Journal of Thomas More and Renaissance Studies and fellow for the Center for Thomas More Studies at the University of Dallas.
Travis is an accomplished author, having written such highly-praised works as The One Thomas More and Shakespeare's Dramatic Persons. He was also the co-Editor of Shakespeare's Last Plays: Readings in Literature and Politics.
Travis is also the Director of a diverse group of young actors through the Shakespeare in Performance minor of studies at Ave Maria University. Here, he leads a team of actors as they explore early modern acting styles while incorporating elements of modern music and dance into the program. Travis and his wife, Mary Curtright, also run the Shakespeare in Performance Camp, which allows young actors a chance to work with the Shakespeare in Performance Troupe and perform one of two productions - a Midsummer Night's Dream and As You Like It.
