I obtained my nursing license in June of 2016 after working at a skilled nursing facility for 5 years. I have worked in 2 medical-surgical units within UnityPoint Health. As a nurse, I am responsible for the care of various clients facing a variety of illnesses and chronic conditions. I work within a collaborative team to provide the best care for the patient. I perform assessments and create care plans, assist in medication administration, and work alongside a variety of health care members. I have had the opportunity to be a Charge Nurse which facilitates in the turnover (admissions, discharges) of patients as well as assisting fellow nurses throughout the shift. Over the past few years, I have had an increased awareness of the benefits of various alternative and complementary therapies, in specific the use of natural therapies to improve well-being. I am wanting to broaden my scope within holistic healing. As an individual, I participate and appraise these therapies including reiki, chiropractic, aromatherapy, massage, and more. I obtained my certification in Direct Energy Transference in 2017 and look forward to what more the future has to hold and what more I can learn from various modalities.
