Owner @ Realestate Investments and Development
Now living in Henderson, Nevada, Gustavo Anaya was an automotive dealer in Southern California for decades. He began selling vehicles in 1966 at Atlantic Datsun in East Los Angeles. Rapidly promoted to sales manager, he was consistently ranked as the best closer. He purchased the agency in 1973 and soon won a quality award. Some years later, Gustavo Anaya bought World Nissan in Canoga Park and quickly increased sales by 500 percent. The dealership’s success earned it recognition for three consecutive years as one of America’s top 50 Nissan vendors. Mr. Anaya shifted some of his attention to real estate investment. He grew his business to own some 150 apartments and employ over 100 people. But he kept his hand in the auto business too. As late as 2011, he took on the post of sales manager for Glendale Nissan. Gustavo Anaya‘s career has also included participation in state and local government. In the 1990s, then-Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman named him to the county’s Economic and Efficiency Committee. Earlier, Lt. Gov. Mervyn Dymally appointed Mr. Anaya to the state Commission of the Californias, where he strove to improve ties with Baja California. Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley asked him to be a commissioner for the city Department of Water and Power, but he declined, preferring to focus on his business. Mr. Anaya remains civically active in Nevada. He holds membership in both the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Latin Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas.
