Trained as an attorney at the South Texas College of Law Houston, Harold Dampier, Jr., has spent approximately two decades working around the world to expand access to justice initiatives. He began his international career in 1999 as a legal liaison with the USAID/American Bar Association Central Eastern Europe Legal Initiative in Tirana, Albania. There, among other achievements, Harold Dampier, Jr., strengthened the judiciary by supporting the supreme court and implemented a nationwide justice strategy. Mr. Dampier’s career eventually saw him assume responsibilities as chief of party for the USAID/National Center for State Courts (NCSC) Bangladesh Justice for All Program in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Working in this position from 2015 to 2017, he expanded the delivery of Bangladesh Justice for All legal aid services and improved public legal literacy. His duties at NCSC also involved placing law students in internships at legal aid offices. Since 2018, Harold Dampier, Jr., has served as senior strategic advisor of USAID Justice Matters Activity in Pristina, Kosovo. In addition to providing specific technical assistance to the Kosovo Free Legal Aid Agency (FLAA), he facilitates donor coordination and mentors FLAA affiliates on a variety of strategic issues.
