In 2007, he was called back into active reserve duty, where he was central to developing the precursor to the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office (NMIO). In this capacity, he facilitated the exchange of non-classified information to improve maritime security on a global scale. In the academic realm, he is currently a Subject Matter Expert at Georgetown University, concentrating on a course that explores "Terrorism and Unconventional Threats." Previously, he enriched the curriculum at George Mason and George Washington Universities as an adjunct professor, teaching studies in domestic and international terrorism. Feldkamp's scholarly work also includes authoring and editing an academic textbook on the "Theory and Politics of Terrorism."
