When I first founded CakeResume, its MVP (minimum valuable product) has received a wide recognition after published to sites like Hacker News and Product Hunt. As a result, it was growing at a steady rate of 50 new visitors daily. In the first 18 months, I developed and optimized CakeResume alone and worked with contract designer and content writers. 18 months later, with 80K users and 100K USD angel fund, I started recruiting for employees. We currently have 4 full-time, and 4 part-time and contract employees. Codementor is the largest community for developer mentorship and an on-demand marketplace for software developers. I helped the company build Codementor Monthly, Codementor Live Classes, and a conversion rate tracking system. I also voluntarily helped optimize Codementor's Google keyword ads and boosted the clickthrough rate from 0.7% to 1.7%. In my spare time, I learned about keyword ads optimization and UI design while in search for some startup business ideas. In the end, I decided to redo CakeResume that was shut down during my service in the army. A totally redesigned CakeResume was then published to Product Hunt and received a wide recognition, prompting me to quit my job and start my own business. https://www.codementor.io

As a second lieutenant chief counselor in the Republic of China Armed Forces, I built ArmyApp with 4 of my college friends. It helps soldiers report their locations during their vacation away from the army and it takes merely 3 seconds to report. It caused an army-wide sensation and became news in Taiwan. In recognition of my efforts, the Chief of the Republic of China Army awarded me a prize and the Army Command Headquarters also let me lead a short term project to digitize other information system for the army. Description
As a self-taught web developer, in my junior year I founded over five sites, including "Macondo", an online bookstore, and 2013's NTU graduates joint affairs committee, although they have not been discontinued. During my senior year, I tried compiling an e-book with my JavaScript and Node.js knowledge despite only 5 chapters were finished. In between semesters, I also taught 8 of my peers Node.js. http://bit.ly/2R5SwdF Prior to graduation, I founded CakeResume because there was no highly customizable online multimedia resume builder available at the time. With minimal features, CakeResume then provided a way to arrange simple resume layout and to publish your resume online. In spite of having less than a hundred users, some student actually successfully landed an internship at Firefox with the help of CakeResume. The site was hosted in my home desktop and a computer hardware failure forced it to be shut down during my time in the army.
