Vasant Ramachandran was active on the Stanford campus; he wrote for the Stanford Review, regularly performed as a member of Raagapella (the university’s South Asian fusion a capella group), and volunteered with SAPHOP, the university’s education and outreach program which focused on raising awareness of health risks within the South Asian community.
