Yubely Zolke

Educational Administrator with Background in Spanish

The recipient of a bachelor's degree in modern languages from Surcolombiana University, Yubely Zolke began her career as an elementary English teacher at Anglo American School in Bogota, Colombia. She worked in this capacity for 2 years, developing and teaching the English language curriculum for grade one and two classes. Yubely Zolke subsequently emigrated to the US and obtained Spanish K-12, ESL K-12, and Principal K-12 North Carolina Teaching Certification.

Yubely Zolke's first teaching position in the US was as an elementary Spanish teacher at Porter Ridge Elementary in Indian Train, North Carolina. She taught Spanish for 2 years at the school, then taught Spanish for 5 years at East Union Middle School. She has worked in an administrative capacity since 2014.

Ms. Zolke spent a combined 4 years as assistant principal at East Union Middle School and Benton Heights Elementary School. She has served as principal at Waxhaw Elementary School since 2019. Her responsibilities in this role include fiscal management, staff recruitment, professional development coordination, and student discipline. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys biking and traveling.
