The Windows Operating Environment team within the HPE Server organization is responsible for enabling Microsoft Windows on HPE's server product lines. We are responsible for delivering products and solutions targeted at enabling new operating systems functionality, drivers, manageability software, and secuirty. We expect our systems/software engineers to engage with multiple HPE partners, other HPE teams and participate in the full software lifecycle from investigation, requirements, design, development, qualification and release. We are also expect to be the subject matter experts regarding to various Windows Server features/technology, such as security, virtualization, software-defined storage/network, just to name a few.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing new Windows drivers and management software products in a timely manner adhering to high quality standards.
• Developer testing owned deliverables.
• Working with Software Testing / QA organizations to achieve quality requirements.
• Troubleshooting / Debugging product issues related to Microsoft Windows.
• Collaborating with cross functional and remote project team members for successful project completion.
• Working with external partners as needed.
• Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for user space application, command line interface programs or Windows Services.
• Investigate newly released Windows features, gain understanding in depth, identify gaps or integration with HPE server products, and create/maintain reference architecture.
• Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
• Participates as a member of project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
• Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of experienc
  

Knowledge and Skills

• Using appropriate engineering design tools and software packages to design components and solutions.
• Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.
• Understanding of hardware and software component design. For example, modern computer architecture, x86 CPU concept or ARM CPU concept, Operating System concept.
• Using empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
• Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
• C, C++.
• Security related knowledge.
• Windows Development.
• Strong preference in one or more of following topics: computer thread analysis, IT security mediation best practice, black hat/white hat hacking experience, Windows PowerShell, C#, Storage Space Direct, large scale hypervisor deployment, OpenStack, Software-Defined-Network, Linux OS/kernel experience, and GPU or FPGA experience.
