About the job

As a Software Engineer in Platforms Storage, you will develop system software for flash, and next-generation disruptive storage technologies. Platforms engineers design and build the software, hardware, computing platforms, and networking technologies that power Google services.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Responsibilities

  • Build code to meet the performance requirements of Google's services in production.
  • Build storage innovations for virtual environments and Google's Cloud services.
  • Design, develop, and maintain big data analytics infrastructure to help monitor, troubleshoot, and derive insights from the storage devices in Google’s infrastructure.
  • Write tests for code and leverage test and release infrastructure.

About us

Google’s mission is to organize the world‘s information and make it universally accessible and useful.

Since our founding in 1998, Google has grown by leaps and bounds. From offering search in a single language we now offer dozens of products and services—including various forms of advertising and web applications for all kinds of tasks—in scores of languages. And starting from two computer science students in a university dorm room, we now have thousands of employees and offices around the world. A lot has changed since the first Google search engine appeared. But some things haven’t changed: our dedication to our users and our belief in the possibilities of the Internet itself.
