Hypervine is seeking an experienced and product oriented Computer Vision Engineer to lead the planning and execution of highly complex on site construction software. This work will involve creating and improving Optical Character Recognition/OCR process as well as image recognition from photographs and satellite images.

We provide construction software that allows construction teams to build critical infrastructure better and cleaner - the water that comes out the tap, we help those guys. Construction companies achieve increase profits and efficiency through using our app and dashboard which captures hard to record data and shows unique data analytics to help construction improve their operations.

You will be a natural self starter who has engineering and some project management experience combined with a love of solving technical problems. This role is not for the faint hearted, we expected you to hit the ground running putting your experience and expertise to work.

The role will understand all aspects of the Hypervine system while focusing on improving and expanding our computer vision capabilities in document reading, images and satellite data. We need to improve processes, identify high impact low effort opportunities and drive value to the end user. Due to the natural of the construction industry we need dynamic capabilities in document processing.

Your responsibilities, skills and duties will include

• Experience with Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Computer Vision, Machine Vision
• Minimum four years of experience designing and developing high performing and secure Applications
• Expertise in OCR editor configuration and batch support
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices enabling sound technology choices and strategic decisions
• Ability to research and apply innovative methodologies, latest industry trends, design patterns
• Fully utilizing existing data sources
• Improving existing OCR models and creating new ones
• Developing machine vision models for specific use cases on construction sites using photographs and satellite imagery
• Support the launch and implementation of workflows
• Ongoing support of the workflows
• Create and/or contribute to process and end-user documentation
• Assure the quality of the automation (QA processes)
• A proven track record of completing complex projects in a commercial environment
• Experienced in building and deploying predictive models
• Can understand customer needs and map empathy with technical knowledge to help us build the right things
• Be able to quickly pick up and apply concepts ranging from the nuances of the construction process to building an OCR workflow

• Identity, manage and mitigate scope creep
• Identify, analyze and present technical problems with initial solutions to internal team
• Contribute and/or write grant applications were opportunity arises
• A motivated self starter who can make project based decisions independently
• Must have experience with Azure Form Recogniser

A day in the life

You will be working remotely, you will be in daily communications with development teams, customers and internal teams. We are mostly a remote working company but do make office time for certain things. You will work independently, as a team and sometimes with customers and stakeholders involved. You will measure work against customer requirements and KPIs that are defined and agreed at the beginning of employment and at the beginning of new work to measure success.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or related discipline
