Job Description

We are looking for a highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic Software engineer to help solve complex problems across a variety of audio processing projects. You will be both creating new solutions, as well as evaluating and improving existing processes. .

To ensure success in this role you should be able to demonstrate solid data science knowledge and experience in a related role, involving Signal Processing, Algorithm development or related fields, as well as providing a positive and professional addition to an innovative team.

This role will be part of a small, new, team of engineers, meaning that you will be involved in all parts of the solutions, through from design to deployment (and everything in-between). Each member is expected to have strengths in certain areas and share these to improve the functionality and performance of the team.

To this end, we also run Innovate Fridays, where the team is not expected to be working on direct projects, and can do research or side-projects in any technical field which they wish, either at home or in the office. This knowledge is then shared through talks with the rest of the team, and applications to current problems are discussed.

Due to the size of the company and Employment law in Taiwan, this position is only open to engineers who have the right to live & work in Taiwan. Syncopate Innovations will be unable to sponsor VISA or ARC at this time. 

The office language is English, so please do not apply if you are not comfortable consulting, documenting and conversing in English.

AR Engineer Responsibilities

  • Consulting with other engineers to determine and refine objectives.
  • Designing technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Working with Linux administration and understanding hardware and networking issues.
  • Understanding and debugging issues with existing systems.
  • Transforming prototypes and research into robust and scalable solutions to business problems.
  • Ensuring and improving accuracy of existing solutions.
  • Turning unstructured data into useful information by auto-tagging images and text-to-speech conversions.
  • Building robust test suites and implementing CI/CD practices to deploy solutions.
  • Understanding and maintaining Kubernetes architecture and pursuing best practice in DevOps.
  • Running tests, performing statistical analysis, and interpreting test results.
  • Documenting new and existing processes.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the field of signal processing and audio analysis

Requirements

Must have

    • Master's degree or strong Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field.
    • At least four years' relevant industry experience.
    • Superb analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Advanced proficiency with Python, C++ or similar language is required.
    • Great communication and collaboration skills in English   


Nice to have

  • Technical knowledge of DevOps processes, including CI, containerization, database technologies
  • Kubernetes experience
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable mathematics, statistics, and algorithms.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Experience working with audio / video systems
  • Passion for Music

Interview process

Initial chat for 15-30 mins, to introduce yourself and company. 

Take-home technical task. 

1 - 1.5  hour interview session with Director and Technical staff
