Wi-Fi Alliance seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to construct and manage software systems to ensure the seamless operation of our Wi-Fi cloud services. SREs play a crucial role in exploring and incorporating effective methodologies for monitoring services, proactively identifying and preventing issues. Additionally, they are tasked with automating service recovery by implementing or adjusting software as needed.

Core Responsibilities

• Participate in an on-call rotation to address incidents affecting the availability of Wi-Fi cloud services.
• Develop monitoring systems that generate alerts based on symptoms, mitigating the risk of service outages.
• Enhance operational processes for handling reported issues, with a focus on automating repetitive tasks.
• Architect, construct, and sustain a deployment infrastructure that is both stable and scalable.
• Collaborate with the software engineering team to troubleshoot production issues.

Experience

• Accumulated a minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role.
• Proficient in building software and systems using scripting languages, such as Python or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure on AWS
• Demonstrated expertise in managing and troubleshooting on the AWS platform
• Proven ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment
• Comprehensive understanding of IP Networking
• Proficient in Linux
• Experience in log process and analysis
• Experience with containers, such as Kubernetes and Docker is a plus
• Familiarity with monitoring systems such as Prometheus and ELK is a plus
• Possesses strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
