We build revolutionary air quality technology for consumers and enterprises that monitor and provide automated solutions to enable healthy air. Wynd’s proprietary software-enabled monitors are the world’s first air quality technology that determines the actual composition of air quality issues. In addition, our leading air purification solutions have garnered awards including Time Magazine’s Best Invention of the year, and are sold worldwide including in the Apple Store.

Who we are looking for

A proactive Firmware / Embedded engineer who can manage and lead our embedded and systems development in a fast-paced, purpose driven start up. The ideal candidate is experienced in embedded engineering and also has experience in both systems architecture and fast-paced development for IoT products. The candidate should be able to both think high-level (e.g., product requirements, architecture) as well as execute directly on embedded development.

In addition to being an excellent developer, the candidate should work well with others and in team settings. The candidate will collaborate with different functional teams including Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing, and more. He / She will also have the opportunity for significant leadership and responsibility on the team.

Responsibilities

Become the subject matter expert in embedded firmware development
Architect, code, and debug system software
Develop, test plans for board bring-up feature debug, and release to manufacturing (RTM)
Help refine product requirements and define feature additions to the firmware
Work alongside many capable and experienced engineers in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software development, and high-volume manufacturing
Analyze and enhance the efficiency, stability, and scalability of IoT products
Integrate and validate new product designs
Provide post-production support
Interface with hardware design and development
Assess and interface with third-party and open-source software

Minimum qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in embedded software development
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant fields
Fluent in C or C++
Fluent in software fundamentals including software design, scalability and maintainability
Possess the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
Comfortable with rapid development cycles and tight schedules
Strong communication and leadership skills to work with global teams
Fluent in English

Preferred qualifications

Proficiency in Python
Familiarity with Real-Time Embedded Operating Systems (RTOS)
Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting (bash) and build automation
Familiarity with Version Control or Source Code Management tools (Git)
Familiarity with Agile / Scrum practices
Leadership on teams and experience in a fast-scaling technology company
