Alexander Cherkassky has had an extensive professional career in Massachusetts, and currently serves as franchise head and senior director with Fluidigm, Inc. Focused on the mass cytometry/spatial tissue imaging area, Alexander Cherkassky is responsible for the development of life science tools that enable the single-cell resolution visualization of more than 30 cellular parameters simultaneously, in both tissue and blood samples. Mr. Cherkassky began his career in the mid-1990s with Mitkem Corporation in Rhode Island as an organic laboratory supervisor, where he scheduled workflow and personnel. Joining PerkinElmer, Inc., in Waltham, Massachusetts, in 1997, he held various scientific responsibilities in clinical areas such as bioinformatics, genomics, and analytical chemistry. Mr. Cherkassky ultimately gained a position with PerkinElmer as R&D director of chemistry and mass spectrometry, and spearheaded successful clinical portfolio expansion efforts. In addition to managing technology evaluations, he assessed business development opportunities and forged robust partnerships that established a solid intellectual property portfolio. Alexander Cherkassky has also held a leadership role with Thermo Fisher Scientific that centered on oversight of the clinical portfolio within its chromatography and mass spectrometry division.
