Furnishing commercial and institutional clients with electrical design services, Kevin Murphy is the president of the Thompson Engineering Company in Danvers, Massachusetts. Among his responsibilities, Kevin Murphy prepares electrical drawings that display a project's power and lighting specifications throughout all stages of the design process. He has completed numerous projects for educational institutions, such as an art museum collection storage facility at Harvard University, an administration building at Worcester State College, and dining and residence halls at UMass Amherst. Kevin Murphy worked his way up through several positions at Thompson Engineering Company prior to being appointed president. While a student at the University of Maine, Orono, he joined the company as a part-time electrical draftsman in 1988. Between 1990 and 1997, he focused on computer aided design (CAD) as a CAD operator and manager, and in 1995 he began working as a project engineer. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Murphy is an avid sports enthusiast. He counts golfing among his favorite hobbies.
