After working for 17 years in anesthesiology, Lorne Cross made the move into Addiction Treatment and now serves as the Medical Director at Willamette Valley Treatment Center, where they offer a Medication Assisted Treatment program to help those struggling with addiction find success in their recovery. Currently, Dr. Cross is working for Acadia Healthcare, where he serves in two distinct roles within the addiction medicine specialty. At the Willamette Valley Treatment Center, a program that uses Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to treat Opioid Addiction, Lorne serves as the Medical Director. In addition to that, Lorne also works as the Medical Director of a new Opioid Treatment Program at Yamhill County Jail in McMinnville, Oregon. The program uses MAT to treat inmates struggling with Opioid Use Disorder. By working in the Yamhill County Jail, Lorne Cross, MD can treat one of the most vulnerable and undertreated populations suffering from opioid addiction: inmates. Through the use of Medication-Assisted Treatment, Lorne and his team are helping to prevent relapse, decrease the rate of overdose, and decrease the rate of recidivism in the jail population.
