Drawing on decades of international experience in the health care sector, Riccardo Braglia serves as the chief executive officer of Helsinn Holding SA, a pharmaceutical and chemical group with operations in China, Ireland, Switzerland, the US, and other countries. Riccardo Braglia took over the business from his father and implemented business growth strategies to transform it into an international group. Today, he leads more than 700 employees and oversees the sale of products in approximately 190 countries. Riccardo Braglia is committed to funding research and development to form new therapeutics that improve the lives of people living with cancer. Each year, he invests close to 25 percent of the company’s turnover in these areas. Additionally, he assisted with the creation of an oncology and rare diseases investment fund, and Helsinn Holding maintains a US-based qualified team dedicated to oncology sales. Mr. Braglia has received multiple distinctions for his work, including being named the “Best Entrepreneur in Ticino” in 2011 and the “Swiss Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2012. A Swiss-Italian, he grew up in Lugano. He holds a degree in Business and Industrial Economic from Bocconi University of Milan.
