Rick Pamplin has acquired extensive experience in media, journalism, and film. He started as a freelance journalist and quickly made his way into the motion picture industry after relocating to Hollywood. Rick Pamplin, an independent filmmaker and Directors Guild of America (DGA) member, has won multiple awards for his films. He completed his undergraduate studies in media communications then earned a master’s degree in creative writing from Antioch University. Upon his arrival in Hollywood, he designed and delivered filmmaking classes focused on screenwriting. Additionally, he held various entry-level positions on movie sets, including location scout and production assistant. His screenwriting classes were a big hit, and he also succeeded in selling his scripts to production companies like Universal Studios. After making his feature debut in 1989, Mr. Pamplin established his production company as part of Universal Studios. Afterward, he directed several award-winning films like A Dog’s Life: The Oscar Lose Story and Michael Winslow Live. Previously, he taught filmmaking students at Loyola Marymount University and the University of Southern California.
