Master project

Feb 2017 - Present
Thesis topic: "cellulose-nanofiber/polypeptide composite hydrogel for nerve regeneration" Advisor: Professor Wei-Fang Su I proposed a composite hydrogel system, combining cellulose-nanofiber and synthetic polypeptide, for nerve tissue engineering. I investigated the mechanical properties, microstructure, and the cytotoxicity of these gels. Then, I studied the composition effect on the properties of these hydrogels and proposed a model to illustrate the hydrogels formation and their properties in this system.

Internship

Jan 2017 - Feb 2017
2 mos
Project topic: "N-type conducting polymer for organic light-emitting diode" Advisor: Dr. Yu-Chieh Pao The precursor of N-type conducting polymer was synthesized via the amine boc-protection and the Suzuki-coupling reaction, and I optimized the reaction conditions with the highest yield.

Undergraduate project

Sep 2016 - Jan 2017
5 mos
Project topic: "Alternating conducting copolymer synthesis for organic photovoltaics" Advisor: Professor Wei-Fang Su With a Ph. D. candidate's suggestion, I modified tetra ethylene glycol into a precursor for the alternating conducting copolymer. I learned about the basics of organic synthesis and practiced them during this project.
