創作理念 Ideas My subject is about SAVING WHALE 🐋 SEASPIRACY is the documentary I have watched on Netflix and I saw plenty of heartbreaking scenes related to the global fishing industry. But what deeply imprinted in my head is the particular one in the Faroe Islands, where you can see the sea turn crimson from a brutal whaling hunt. Therefore, I started to look into the disastrous phenomenon of whaling that is happening in the Faroe Islands and found out locals have an annual ritual and consider whaling as a part of their cultural heritage. The above-mentioned reason definitely is not sufficient enough to convince me about slaughtering the animals that demonstrate complex social behaviors. The fact that whales are the largest creature on Earth and their bodies are able to store lots of carbon and their presence in the ocean shapes the ecosystems around them. So it turns out that whaling emissioned about 70 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, and also had a multiple coherence effect on phytoplankton productivity and the ocean's ability to absorb carbon which caused the enormous impact of climate change. In addition, whales suffer from perceptual feelings like human beings. Whaling not only raises the concentration of greenhouse gases but also damages the marine ecosystem. This somehow will reflect on our daily life and that's why I think conserving whale populations is crucial.
