一個虛擬時裝展示館,其中展品不以3D呈現而是人物影片,並有引導觀眾看完展品的互動要素。


本專案初期僅有美術人員,缺乏VR必須的操作、移動、立體UI等系統且有嚴重效能問題,工程師加入專案時離結案時間太近無法修改現有內容,我們決定大刀闊斧的砍掉幾乎全部內容以最低可運行版本為目標重做。

我的貢獻:

- 中途接手專案管理,從第8版開始全數重做並在13版結案。

- 基於觀眾狀態控制影片的偵測功能。影片是本專案面臨的效能挑戰之一,人物影片需疊加去背遮罩,這導致會有將近60個高畫質影片在場景內同時播放,美術人員重新設定觀覽動線降低觀眾視野內可見的影片數量使同時顯示人物影片保持在3組(6個影片),根據觀眾視線方向與距離自動播放或暫停個別影片。

- 防止觀眾偏離觀覽動線的提示功能,參考Half-Life: Alyx的作法在觀眾穿牆時遮蔽視野同時顯示能回到正確動線的最近方向提示。

- 互動玩法實作,傳送門、拾取物件等。

- 增進效能的場景切換系統,將主場景切成館內館外,將靜態要素、互動要素、燈光切分到不同場景層,增加intro和outro、操作介紹和Roll Card等場景。

The project is a virtual fashion showroom, where exhibits are not presented in 3D, but play character videos, with interactive collection elements that guide the viewer through the exhibits. At the beginning of the project, it was made by an artist only, and lacked the necessary operation, movement, stereoscopic UI and other systems for VR, and had serious performance problems. When the engineers joined the project, it was too close to the end of the project to modify the existing content, We decided to cut almost all of the content and redo it with the minimum runnable version as the goal. My contribution: - Took over project management midway through the project, reworking everything from version 8 onwards and closing it out at version 13. - Controlled movie detection based on audience state. Video was one of the performance challenges faced by this project. Character videos needed to be overlaid with back masks, which resulted in nearly 60 HD videos playing simultaneously in the scene. I instructed the artists to reset the viewing line to reduce the number of videos visible in the viewer's field of view so that the number of simultaneous character videos would remain at 3 Group (6 videos), and to play or pause individual videos according to the direction of the viewer's line of sight and the distance between the two videos. - A feature to prevent viewers from deviating from the viewing path, following the approach used in Half-Life: Alyx, where the field of view is obscured when viewers move through walls, while displaying directional cues indicating the nearest route back to the correct path. - Interactive gameplay, such as portals and picking up objects. - Scene switching system to improve the performance, cut the main scene into inside and outside the museum parts, cut the static elements, interactive elements and lighting into different scene layers, add intro and outro, operation introduction and Roll Card scenes.
