Adriel Cha

Corporate Development and Operations at Orca Bio

Adriel Cha, a University of Southern California alumnus, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health in 2007. His academic journey continued with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Studies specializing in Immunology from Baylor University. Later, he pursued further education as a Sloan Fellow in Management at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. 


Kicking off his career as a venture analyst at Charter Life Science, Adriel then transitioned into life science research at Stanford School of Medicine. During his time as a graduate student and postdoctoral fellow at Stanford, he led preclinical research for a substantial StandUp2Cancer-Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Dream Team grant, which totaled $10 million. Additionally, he played a pivotal role as a lead translational researcher for the development of correlative studies associated with two IND applications. 


His career trajectory continued with a managerial role at Forty Seven, where he contributed significantly to the company's vision and success. Notably, he played a key part in securing a Series A investment round amounting to $75 million and co-led the drafting of the S-1 for the company's IPO. 


Subsequently, Adriel contributed his expertise as a life science specialist at L.E.K. Consulting until December 2020. Currently, he's actively involved in corporate development and operations at Orca Bio. Outside his life sciences endeavors, Adriel serves on the Hive Advisory Council for the California Academy of Sciences and the Executive Committee for the Qiu Shi Science & Technologies Foundation.


In his earlier professional journey, Adriel began as an Administrative Assistant at Unity Manufacturing in Concord, CA, then served as a Senior Secretary at Horizon Solutions in Santa Rosa, CA. He later took on the role of Office Manager at Delta Pharmaceuticals in Walnut Creek, CA, followed by serving as an Executive Assistant to the CEO at Quantum Financials in Sacramento, CA.
