Craig Richardville

Transitioning a Major Health System to Digital

Craig Richardville is a longtime presence in the Charlotte business community who most recently held senior responsibilities as Carolinas HealthCare System chief information officer. Over a period spanning nearly two decades, Craig Richardville built a nationally-recognized team in serving more than 1,500 analysts and services professionals.

Mr. Richardville directed system deployment efforts and processes that brought about a digitally based healthcare system. This system was effective in connecting administrative professionals, providers, and patients, and brought about new efficiencies and engagement strategies. The physician-led electronic medical records structure he set up allowed system goals regarding quality, cost and convenience and was the foundation for the advanced analytics deliverables, including the early adoption of robotic process automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning. He was picked to sit on all of the health system's strategic councils regarding affordability, population health, growth/consumerism and teammate engagement.

Mr. Richardville also sat on the Carolinas Innovation & Investment Leadership Boards and guided leadership development and succession planning activities. He holds a number of board positions, including the Chair of the Charlotte CIO Association, the Member Technology Improvement Committee of Premier Inc., and is an executive advisor with Queens University’s Technology Committee, Medtronic IT Advisory Council, and several other companies. Craig Richardville enjoys spending time with his family, and regularly attends the theatre, live sporting events and fitness activities in his free time.
