Hello, I'm You shih-jie, currently working at Zyxel Technology, and I'm on the path to becoming a professional software and firmware test engineer while continuously enhancing my skills.
Upon joining the company, I took on the responsibility of testing and developing large-scale network switching equipment (COE). I learned various skills from different network services such as Switch, xDSL, GE, GPON, XPON, and XGSPON. As these are large network switching devices, I personally set up and interconnected multiple switches and COE equipment in the laboratory. I applied multiple CHT network/MOD circuits in the laboratory and conducted various testing experiments using different network service delivery methods, including features like ERPS, STP, link aggregation, and other L2 switch functions.
As the company's strategic transformation led to an increase in departmental business volume, I proactively offered to take on this responsibility. I conducted interoperability testing for GPON/XPON/XGSPON ONT and observed ME values and behavior within OMCI to ensure they met expectations.
With a multitude of test combinations (NxM), each requiring a significant amount of time for verification, I proactively proposed the idea of automated testing and provided feedback. I introduced variable concepts to make automated testing more flexible, thus enhancing product stability. When automated testing became stable and operational, it received positive feedback from both supervisors and customers, leading to increased customer loyalty and their willingness to explore other types of network equipment.
After improving product stability, it instilled more confidence in potential customers in the brand. Consequently, the company attempted to enter the annual XPON COE network equipment project with Chunghwa Telecom, and I took on the role of project leader. I assisted with project management and RD, including schedule planning, data analysis, interface optimization, identifying software bugs, debugging in collaboration with RD, discussing code modifications, and conducting complex testing, including IOP testing. The project was successfully awarded, and products continue to be delivered to Chunghwa Telecom , earning the company a reputable name and substantial revenue for handling Tier 1 clients.
Upon engaging with various products and customer feedback, I realized the need for Python-related applications like Selenium, Matplotlib, and Beautiful Soup. I am currently learning these technologies with the expectation of applying them to future challenges.
