• To understand the needs of Brand for fabric samples, and communicate with internal R&D personnel to provide corresponding products to Brand.
• To help shoe factory to solve the problem of material in producing the shoe, and provide below information:
1. Based on the cost of greige fabric, dyeing and MOQ to calculate the final price.
2. Evaluate the situation of different materials and provide the delivery date.
• To visit Client and discuss the brand and material issue.
• Material development: Have to know the position of brands in the market first, and to control the material style, quality standard and costing range. To work with the related material suppliers which are leather/fabric/ornament/outsole/accessory.(elastic/woven/shoe lace)
• Sample shoe development: As the bridge between designer and sample room, check the schedule from the proto to confirmation shoe, communicate with technicians for sample production process, solve the problem for defective sample.
--In FW18, Dad Sneaker "Addict" was developed. Since FW18, it has accumulated more than 200,000 pairs of orders. After that, we developed Dad Sneaker 2.0 "Flash" and "Extreme", also got around 150,000 pairs of orders.
• ASH Selection Meeting in HK: To assist the foreign agents to more understand the main materials and style DNA in every season.
• Collect the order and work the delivery date with factory, check the production schedule to ensure the shipment can be on time.
• Integrate the suppliers and established the approved list,
--Reduced the suppliers from 467 to 290 and focused on more competitive and professional suppliers who can raise the quality, delivery and the prices for our products.
• Work with clients for retail price, wholesale price, FOB and factory cost
• Project leader of vendor consolidation in 2019, and negotiated the price with supplier and factory
--Saved the USD558 thousand.
• Consider all aspects of the brands (order quantities/margins/division cost) to make the yearly KPI.
--The profit achievement rate was 16% above the 2018 KPI and 25% above the 2019 KPI.
• Base on different price ranges of brands, to suggest the suitable material for brand to designer.
--Costing for brands: ASH/French Connection/United Nude/Tahari/ Ellen Tracy/3.1 Phillip Lim
• Cost for sample and production: Review the material quotation, calculate the consumption, make the cost breakdown and consider the extra cost from special process in production.
• Base on the factory scale and capacity, to estimate LOP (Labor, Operation, Profit) for different types of shoe.
Mary was one of the very few people with superb performance in tasks assigned with superb work ethics. She is not afraid of being critics but rightfully so especially when true teamwork is needed and when leaders need to make informed decisions. This trait is extremely valuable in pricing roles of fashion industry where everything is on tight timelines and every decision involved directly impacted the P&L of the team.
Project Management: Mary also thinks critically into the root of problems and able to identify them and really tackle them to make a project viable and valuable. She led the task force of vendor evaluation and consolidation and prompt a hard look at having a true revision of SOP in approving vendors in our system. It was a great project that not only a showcase to display her capability but also helped the company in vendor evaluation matrix design!
