Robert Schnitzlein

East Coast-Based Psychiatrist

Based in Delaware, Dr. Robert Schnitzlein is a psychiatrist who has recently served as medical director and staff psychiatrist at Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute in Harrisburg. In this role, he was part of a team approach to treatment at an inpatient facility that provided care to patients with severe and chronic mental health disorders. He provided evaluation and treatment and consulted with other medical specialists to help patients achieve stabilization. Dr. Robert Schnitzlein also served Alliance, Inc. (now Mosaic Community Services, Inc.) as medical director for 6 years, overseeing psychiatric services through an assertive community treatment team(ACT) approach, with patients benefiting from highly coordinated treatment from a variety of experienced professionals. Through this work, the ACT team helped reduce the use of emergency room services significantly.

Dr. Robert Schnitzlein earned his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he also completed a residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. Over the course of his career, he has held positions at numerous clinics and practices, including Thrive Behavioral Health Services, Inc., People Encouraging People, and Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services, Inc.
