I have over three years of work experience as an backend software developer with critical skills in business processes, software infrastructure and project management. With a background in Electrical and Mechanical engineering research I am able to apply myself in various technical roles in industry and have published academic work in IEEE Industry Applications Journal. I have worked in many start-up environments and understand how to build systems following lean, agile development and possess excellent business and interpersonal communication skills as I have taught programming and hosted technical workshops and hackathons.

Thesis title: Analytical Modelling and Design Optimisation of the Eddy Current Slip
Coupler.
The thesis includes analytical FEM analysis, design optimization using machine
learning and comprehensive simulation data analysis as well as manufacturing
and practical testing.
Research was published at ECCE conference and IEEE industry Applications.
Completed undergraduate degree in robotics and renewable energy. and did a final year project under supervision of Prof. M.J. Kamper in wind turbine grid connection, research was published at a conference in South Africa.
The projects listed here are projects I did are not related to any of the jobs or work experience and these are projects I did because I was passionate about the project, idea or concept at the time.
This project I built for the company I worked for to find a way to better manage the classes, students, parents and teachers. The backend is built on Django and python and allows for the scheduling of classes, tracking hours, payments and much more. Built on Django and React.
Shape was a project i did while working for Rehive, a blockchain platform. Its primary function was to issue users blockchain reward tokens that was created on the Stellar cryptocurrency. This project was built in Django on the backend, and had frontend app that was built using React.
Internet of Things grow box. Remote based monitoring of a plant inside a grow box. Built on a Raspberry Pi running FLASK and managed on balena.io IoT management platform. User facing app for plant monitoring and control.
Small-scale wind turbine design and construction. Worked part of a team to construct a small scale wind turbine for research purposes.
Eddy current coupling design for industry applications to be used in factories to prevent motor and gearbox failure. The coupling design is determined through machine learning algorithms that determine the optimal machine dimensions. Seed funding round 1.
- Computer programming
- Game design and development in Unity, Pixel Art.
- 3D modeling and CAD
- Circuit board layout and design
- Internet of things
- Machine Learning
- Technical communication, report writing
- Teaching and mentoring
- Task management
- Hiring, interviewing
- Reviewing & feedback
- Presentations & workshops
I have organized and hosted music events, hackathons and art exhibitions, I have travelled
most of South Africa and have traveled and lived in countries around the world. I
have worked at a few start-ups and have attempted my own. I have worked in Asia
and taught kids about technology. I am a passionate person
that likes to create and learn, and always try to find the positive and fun side to life.
foob is a board game I made with my partner Nina who is a talented designer.
