• Developed a system to monitor video streams of live games that can issue alert notifications to operations personnel when abnormal time delays are detected.

• Conducted research, experiments and developed models. Analyzed data and instructed annotators on how to organize training data for the spam/profanity filter used by the company's online chat rooms, leading to an overall accuracy improvement by nearly 10%, and the precision of identifying messages that should be filtered has significantly increased from 5x% to nearly 90%, reducing the number of messages mistakenly filtered and enhancing user experience. 

• Refactored and optimized the performance of chat room real-time conversation monitoring system.
• Significantly shortens the time it takes for personnel to wait for certain operations to be completed, from several minutes to within one minute.

• Greatly reduced the system's resource consumption and speeded up page loading time.

• Decoupled the back-end and ML components of the system to make the software easier to maintain.
  
• Delivered a photo cropping tool, allowing colleagues to use it for automatically generating dealer profile pictures to be displayed on the gaming platform website, greatly reducing their effort in manual cropping.

• Aided in risk analysis for several online games to ensure there are no significant vulnerabilities.
  

PIXNET, Taiwan

Senior Algorithm Engineer，Jun. 2018 – Aug. 2020

• Trained an image classifier and categorized the images contained within the blog articles accordingly, which allows the backend program to select suitable images from blog articles as thumbnails for those specific posts to attract more people to view the articles and enhance user experience. Resulted in a click-through rate improvement of 3%.

• Delivered an experimental prototype for a service that allows image-based searching for PIXNET blog articles containing similar images, which was incorporated into the PIXNET mobile app's functionality.

• Implemented a related article recommendation algorithm (articles you may like) based on user browsing behavior, which resulted in a click-through rate improvement of 4% ~ 8% compared to the previous keyword-based search approach, benefiting the increase in company revenue.

• Collaborated with backend team, developed relevant APIs for them to meet the company's business requirements.

• Led a task force responsible for the PIXNET annual hackathon event in 2019, which involved nearly nine months of preparation. Worked with the team to come up with the hackathon topic, find the event venue, sponsorship and judges, conducted promotional activities, and ensured the progress of the preparation work. The event came to a big success, the number of registration teams reached a record high, more than 40 teams and about 200 people participating, which had achieved the promotional goals of the company.

• Worked with several different teams on WCDMA/HSPA protocol stack maintenance and migrations to ensure successful mass production for key customers.

• Designed and implemented Middleware layers for MMI to control and communicate with the company's first self-developed GSM/GPRS modem chipset, so that subsequent products can be launched smoothly. 

• Delivered on-site support for customers, including top ODM mobile phone company in China. Analyze and fix issues to help them obtain telecom operator certifications.

• Designed and modified the proprietary codes of TCP/IP and DCHP only applicable to GPRS bearer originally for the company's first phone product with Wi-Fi feature. Worked with a team to develop new data delivery mechanism to enhance data throughput. Throughput raised by 50% and MIPS consumption reduced by 40%, leading to successful mass production.

• As a mobile protocol engineer, worked with colleagues from several different teams, helped analyze and fix network related issues to ensure the corresponding new features/Apps can be ready for shipment in time.
