Job Description
This role requires a unique combination of physical security, contract compliance, investigations, and project management skills to help protect our most valuable IP and new products. Must be able to think differently about security processes, systems, and technology deployment. The Manager of Asset Protection and Investigations will be expected to implement and validate compliance across all Applied Materials business units and investigate all reports of employee misconduct, theft, or any other report requiring documentation.

- Investigate and report on all security related investigations, including theft, employee misconduct, and delegate reports to local security teams as needed.
- Produce reports based on audits, site walks, that detail current conditions, improvements, and ability to present these reports at a leadership/executive level.
- Provide training that builds security awareness focused on protecting critical assets.
- Assess risk and provide mitigation steps that align with business objectives and enable business productivity.
- Ensure compliance to contractual security obligations.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and effective time management.
- Must have 100% credibility, objectivity and respect across all parts of the business.
- Ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships with other management groups (Individual BU’s, IT, HR, Finance, Legal).
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
- Knowledge of security systems operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team.
- Willing to travel when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred although combination of work experience and education may be accepted.
- 5+ years in a similar role within the security domain.
- Physical security program management experience.
- Intellectual Property Protection.
- Supply Chain Security.
- Strong and effective communication and presentation experience to cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge and competence of written investigations and interview techniques.
- Knowledge and aptitude of automated / integrated security systems and concepts.
- Use of reporting apps like “Resolver” and design drawing apps like BlueBeam.
- Working knowledge of legal contracts, budgeting, and key terms.
- Experience with rapid organizational growth.
- Strong working knowledge around access control and video surveillance.
- Service-oriented/customer-driven approach.
- Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills.
- Works in and understands Office365 programs.
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of 5 years of security experience & education.
