Senior Manager/ Manager, Research & Innovations (Food Science)

Job Description

  • Overall in-charge of food innovations laboratory management and ongoing projects Investigating and setting standards for safety and quality.
  • Ensure compliance of internal regulation, health and safety rules
  • Design and develop document processes in various protocols from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Develop necessary documentation and reporting required by respective statutory boards/stakeholders
  • Research and explore alternative manufacturing methods
  • Development and continuous improvement on testing methods for determining the sensory attributes, quality and properties of product.
  • Support production plant in the development of manufacturing options, scaling up, production trial, pre commercialization testing and process optimization.
  • Support production plant in ensuring food manufacturing processes conform with government, processing, consumer and industry standards
  • Conduct process reviews and process/product improvement by working and communicating with respective department peers, in identifying objectives, budget, requirements, plans and formulate options.
  • Ensure projects operations run smoothly by scheduling staff, ordering supplies, maintaining health and safety protocols, as well as training lab technical and quality/control analysis/technical experts in various aspects.
  • Ensure good laboratory practices, including sample preparation, handling and record keeping.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks / projects assigned by Senior Management/Board member

Requirements

  • A Masters or PhD degree in Chemistry, Food Science and Engineering, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or any equivalent degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of research hands on working experience and managing a team of research personnel
  • Experience in research and development, formulation, process development and scaling up.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects independently, seek innovative solutions, continuous improvement of product and process, and drive results to completion on schedule.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work while multitasking. Demonstrate motivation and excellent work ethic.
  • Must work effectively in team environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
