We are seeking a highly skilled Microfluidics Engineer to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of microfluidic cartridges that are used within the company’s device. The position requires a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in microfluidic device design and fabrication, and an understanding of fluid mechanics, MEMS technology, and materials science.

The microfluidics engineer will collaborate with system engineers, lab engineers and manufacturers in studies, development and test to develop a diagnostic test device.

Responsibilities

• Perform fluidic modeling and simulation to optimise device performance
• Fabricate and test microfluidics devices using microfabrication techniques such as soft lithography, micro-milling, and micro-injection moulding
• Develop and implement testing protocols to validate device performance
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure device integration with the IVD instrument
• Stay current with the latest developments in microfluidic technologies and apply them to improve device performance
• Write technical reports and present findings to internal teams and external partners
• Follow product roadmap and initiatives, and participate in technical design.
• Respect project schedules and budget to meet project requirements.
• Practice and comply with safety standards at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in microfluidic device design and fabrication
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, MEMS technology, and materials science
• Experience with microfabrication techniques such as soft lithography, micro-milling, and micro-injection moulding
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience with fluidic modelling and simulation software such as COMSOL or ANSYS
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Experience with IVD instrumentation and cartridge design is a plus
