Doublethink Lab (Doublethink) is a civil society organization (CSO) devoted to studying authoritarian malign influence. Doublethink’s strengths lie in the ability to combine a diverse set of research approaches in the social, behavioral , and computational sciences to study state-funded propaganda campaigns, psychological warfare, and related information operations. Doublethink seeks to foster global networks connecting academics, democracy movements, digital communities, like-minded CSOs, and experts on the People’s Republic of China, in order to strengthen global democratic resilience.

Doublethink Lab is seeking a Policy Researcher. The main responsibilities are to conduct research for information ecosystem mapping for countries in the Indo-Pacific, read and distil policy position papers relating to foreign information manipulation and interference, and work with external policy consultants to generate concrete policy recommendations.

Position Information

• Employer is a legally registered NGO, based in Taipei City.
• Salary is from TWD 50,000 per month up (treatment negotiable), based on experience and desired criteria

Required

• Ability to summarise large amounts of information and to identify patterns
• Clear logical thinking and nuanced thoughts, proficient in basic qualitative research methods and adhering to research ethics
• Knowledge of the geopolitical situation in Southeast Asian countries and the political situation in China
• Excellent command of written language, capable of writing reports in English.
• Advanced English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
• Ability to independently complete tasks and solid teamwork skills
