In January 2017 I decided to move to Spain to try the experience of working abroad. I chose Spain and in particular Palma for the professional and personal connections that I had consolidated since the previous year.
Habitissimo is probably the most important technology company on the island: "Scale-Up" in rapid growth with over 2 million users divided between Spain, Italy, France and Latin America, over 200 people employed in continuous increase, cutting edge working philosophies.
During my time in Habitissimo I worked as SEO Editor for Italy, dealing with the recruitment and coordination of a team of over 10 freelance writers. My job is to identify and display the best "keywords" for the positioning of the countless pages of the platform, add articles to writers with guidelines, verify that the work done complies with the quality standards required for SEO, and other responsibilities related to the management of this small team (freelance billing, updating global spreadsheets, writing reports related to my team's performance, etc.).
During my work I did not miss the opportunity to automate some processes related to it. Particularly from the beginning I noticed the poor quality of the articles by freelancers which cost me a lot of editing work afterwards. I decided to devote some energy to writing a detailed guide on writing "SEO compilant" articles, with sections also relating to the correct use of our backend, as well as examples of corrections I made previously.
The effect of the guide was immediate on the quality of the articles of the Italian freelance team, and this allowed me to reduce my total daily workload by a good 30%, as well as receive the thanks of my team who, thanks to the guide, felt much more confident and competent at carrying out their work.
