The Chengzhi Education Foundation, in collaboration with the BigByte Education team, has established the "KIST English Reading Project" to address educational disparities and the scarcity of English resources in rural areas, as well as the issue of unstable teaching staff. With the support of the RAZ Kids digital platform, this long-term online mentoring initiative aims to cultivate children's interest in English reading. The project is currently being implemented in five public and private primary and secondary schools. Volunteer services include: 1. Utilizing digital learning tools: Volunteers leverage the RAZ Kids platform to create a reading coaching process that guides students in exploring English reading materials. 2. Regular learning tracking: Mentors regularly meet with teachers from the participating schools to discuss the growth patterns of specific students and improve teaching methods accordingly. They also maintain learning tracking forms to record students' progress, motivations, and engagement with the RAZ Kids platform. 3. Swift adjustments and optimization: Regular PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) meetings are conducted to ensure continuous improvement. Mentors, serving as team leaders, autonomously manage school communities and hold smaller-scale PDCA meetings. These discussions aim to enhance the mentoring process and explore strategies for smoother operations. During larger PDCA meetings, mentors actively seek feedback from schools to identify more effective ways to support students. This iterative approach enhances mentors' leadership, reflection, and problem-solving skills. 4. Real-time reporting and substitute arrangements: Communication through LINE messaging allows mentors to provide immediate updates on their online status, seek assistance for challenges, and manage substitute arrangements when necessary. This streamlined communication network among mentors ensures effective coordination.
