Doug Rosenthal

Biological Research Scientist @ Cleveland Center for Membrane and Structural Biology
Doug Rosenthal is a Biological Research Scientist. He has done a number of research studies in the field of biology, which have been featured in some of the more prestigious scientific journals. Currently, Doug serves as a professor at the Cleveland Institute for Computational Biology and has done many researches in affiliation with this university. He holds this position since 2005. Additionally, he is a member of the Cleveland Center for Membrane and Structural Biology (CCMSB), since 2015. Doug received a Bachelor’s, Masters’s and PhD in Biology from the Case Western Reserve University. When finishing his postdoctoral studies, in the period from 1991 to 1994, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the University of Cambridge. Rosenthal relies on molecular structures from electron microscopy (EM), x-ray crystallography, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy when conducing his studies. Doug’s studies have done great scientific contributions in the understanding of the cytoskeleton, organelles and membrane-trafficking intermediates, signal transduction pathways, cell cycle regulators, the organelle/protein recycling machinery, and cell-death pathways. These studies also have revealed cellular pathways, crucial for the immune response. Doug Rosenthal is the author of the books: Atomic Evidence and The Body’s Motors.
