A fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the National Athletic Trainers Association, Dr. Douglas Kleiner is the only individual to maintain fellowship status in all three national sports medicine associations. For more than 20 years, Dr. Douglas Kleiner has served as president and CEO of North Florida Sports Medicine in Jacksonville Beach. In recognition of his professional accomplishments, he has received accolades such as the UNF College of Health Governor’s Service Award and the American Society of Association Executives President's Award. Widely published in the area of sports medicine, Dr. Kleiner has written more than 400 journal articles and abstracts. Additionally, his work has appeared in more than 40 books, and he has consulted on scholarly projects and investigated many federally funded studies. Dr. Kleiner holds a bachelor of arts in health education and a master of arts in exercise science from the University of South Florida. He received a PhD in philosophy in health and human performance and applied exercise physiology from Auburn University.
