One of the most important hiring criteria for many companies is the ability to work as a team player—yet, so many of us have colleagues who don’t play well with others. “If you have one bad apple in the bunch, it can really hurt the morale and enthusiasm of an entire department,” says Andy Teach, a corporate veteran” If you want to get your colleagues to work with you better, here’s what you can do: • Make teamwork a priority by making it part of the performance management system - When people care about the people they work with, things get done faster, he says. “People will go the extra mile; they will take ownership of a job, a decision or problem and work through it without feeling like they have to go up the chain to get things done.” • Pinpoint the issue: Explore your feelings and behavior toward your colleagues. “Social and professional relationships are inextricably symbiotic and interactive, and much of the communication that occurs is both subconscious and reactive. “If you don’t look forward to working with a particular colleague or colleagues, guess what? Your enthusiasm suffers, your morale suffers, and ultimately, productivity suffers. A bad workplace relationship creates negative energy, which can affect everyone on the team, as well as customers or clients. As with any skill, everyone has their own techniques and level of natural expertise in people management, and it is a skill that is a critical part of career progression. Some tips on how to manage the people in your organization more effectively. Everybody’s different: Management techniques that work with one professional may not work with another, so take time to get to know your team well, and you’ll soon pick up on individual characteristics that can help you manage them better. Set the standard:Good management techniques are borne out of mutual respect and appreciation between all parties, so all management should begin by the manager setting a standard that he or she would expect from others.

The architecture and the design of the new town of Ahmedabad (Latt. 23* 00, Long. 72* 35’), a walled town situated on the river Sabarmati, was a continuation of the Hindu building traditions by other means. These ‘other means’ were the new stylistic elements brought in by the new rulers. The city lies close to an older Solanki trading centre, on the 371 km long river Sabarmati and is 173 feet above the sea level. That it was the seat of a splendorous court is testified by a French traveler, Taverniere, who had visited the town in the eighteenth century describing it as “the headquarters of manufacturing, the greatest city in India, nothing inferior to Venice for rich silks and gold stuffs curiously wrought with birds and flowers.” A treaty with the then rulers of western India, the Poona Peshwas, brought Ahmedabad under the British rule in 1817. The British were keen on annexing Ahmedabad because of “the commanding influence which the sovereignty over the city of Ahmedabad confers on its possessor in the estimation of the country at large.” At the time of the British arrival, the medieval economy of Ahmedabad had hung on three threads: gold, silk, and cotton. The British rule of law helped flowering the strength of the Ahmedabad mahajans (trade guilds), and aided by the opium trade to China, by 1839 the town was “in a most flourishing condition and progressing rapidly.”

I have always believed that grades and only grades are not the only criteria to test your knowledge. You can frame this well in your interview. But make sure I know the practical application of everything I have taken as my course. And I won't miss any chance to float it across whenever possible. Grades won't matter much once you know your Worth. It's really sad to see that most firms who recruit from campus set up a definite GPA to shortlist candidates. This just goes on to show that even companies believe that students with low grades are not worthy of a job. If this changes then probably would not have to answer this. But till this happens, I know your practical well.
