Doctoral Dissertation: Technology-Mediated Social Support - Preserving Life Stories for the Seniors

The main contribution of this study is presented as a technology-mediated social support system to help the companion or families of the seniors can provide social support by maintaining a natural conversation, recording and summarizing the oral narratives with a friendly voice-based interface.

• PicMemory, I implemented the iPad app, back-end system, and AI modules by myself (Collaborated with professional designers). 

• PicMemory won the winning award of the Stanford Design Challenge Asia. And represented Taiwan to attend the final pitch of the Stanford Design Challenge in Stanford Center on Longevity.

• Established a 6-member application development team from scratch, comprising front-end, iOS, and Android engineers, personally responsible for back-end system architecture design and development. Leveraging AWS services as the system environment and using Node.js as the primary programming language.

• Engaged in discussions with business and design teams to convert business logic into technical architecture and collaborate with the engineering team. Led the development of the Moment App for over two years, witnessing user registration grow from 0 to nearly 30,000 members.

• Led the team in rearchitecting and rewriting the GraphQL module using RestfulAPI, significantly improving data computation and display efficiency on the app while reducing complexity. Achieved an average data access efficiency improvement of 50%-80%.

• Introduced and implemented the MQTT protocol to revamp the chat room functionality, aiming to enhance real-time capabilities and stability. This initiative resulted in a significant reduction in message error rates and optimization of the push notification mechanism.

• Leveraging previous experience in AI system development, implemented data analysis mechanisms within the product early on. Currently capable of keyword extraction and analysis for consultation content and health logs.

• Led a multinational remote engineering team of 8 individuals in a English-speaking work environment, consisting of front-end engineers and WebGL graphics engineers. Focused on system development management and assisted in establishing a collaborative development process within the engineering team.

• Served as a communication bridge between the engineering team, CEO, and design team, facilitating the establishment of collaborative models and processes across teams.

• Be promoted as a General Manager & Technical Director in the Taipei office. Led more than 50 people and took responsibility to communicate with Hong Kong HQ. 

• Follow HQ's goal, led the Taipei office to achieve the goal and finish all product development. Within a year, we transform our blockchain technology Boltchain into products Bolt Trust/Bolt Assets. (https://boltchain.io)

• Took responsibility to develop business customers, negotiate contracts and deliver our services and system.

• Be promoted as a technical director in the Taipei office of the TIDEiSun  Group. Took responsibility to manage the technical path and progress for all products.

• Led a 30-people team to develop our own blockchain technology Boltchain and its application systems, such as PingPay, RockMe, and iSunTV.

• Led an 8-people mobile team to redesign and implement a decentralized wallet app TideWallet.io for Ethereum blockchain. The app was released in  3 months from we join the company, the development time was reduced by 50%.

• Developed several mobile applications independently, one of them is a news-reading app that reached more than 700,000 installs on all mobile platforms, primarily focused on users in Taiwan. (Please refer to the link below.)

• Developed more than 30 mobile applications, including an international semiconductor exhibition (SEMICON Taiwan) App for 3-years (2016-2018), and a travel app for the senior people that collaborated with the Institute for Information Industry in Taiwan.

• Provide mobile application development and UI/UX flow design services to help customers create high quality and beautiful mobile applications.

• Led a 5-people team and achieved an annual growth rate of 15% since 2015.

• All team members were acqui-hired by TIDEiSun Group as a mobile team on Jan. 2018.
