An alumnus of Schreiner Military Institute and Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas, Texas, Michael Gonzales earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Texas in 1974 and has since focused his career in tech and advocating on behalf of Dallas' Hispanic community. As a mobile app developer, Michael Gonzales has developed apps for the Mexican restaurant Los Lupes, the National Latino Law Enforcement Organization, and the Vote Victoria Neave campaign. Since 2014, Mr. Gonzales has served as president of Busca-Apps, where he directs efforts to develop high-performance and scalable software products for companies operating in health care, banking, logistics, and education, among other sectors. Busca-Apps employs more than 50 software engineers, creative designers, and technology consultants. Regarding his civic work, Mr. Gonzales has led numerous protests in an effort to change institutions regarded for unfair practices and treatment concerning Hispanics. In addition, he is the founder of Mi Casa, a down payment assistance program that has helped thousands of Latinos purchase homes, and is the only person to have served two terms as chairman of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
