The responsibilities for this position include mechanical design and smart phone products development. Design evaluation from the initial beginning and get successful mass production through reliable design. Mechanical department plays an integrated role to well cooperate with other departments and makes the concept and design come true, from the initial RFQ design assessment to RTL volume production period. Additional duties include guaranteeing product to achieve objectives of cost down, development, reliability, supervision and security.
1. Cooperate and collaborate with other worldwide functions to achieve seamless product development.
2. Launch the development and qualification of plastic tooling, including design debugging.
3. Do assistance in solving mass production and process-related mechanical issues and. failure analysis.
4. Responsible for internal departmental communication and coordination.
5. Supply chain management and coordination
6. Previous design evaluation before manufacturing, covering the process from product design to mass production and review production line readiness (SOP, fixture, equipment, process parameters)
7. Review design readiness and co-work with PE and manufacture site members to fix mechanical issue.
8. Analyze mechanical issues and yield rate improvement. And key process parameter optimization via DOE (Design perform DOE and review data)
9. Copy line qualification and monitor line efficiency to fulfill demand. Define manual and auto assembly equipment qualification.
10. Mechanical DFM review and make improvement plans with SONY’s customer.
11. Play a key role in ensuring the final design meets quality and cost goals, and achieve specifications of reliability, manufactural, and functionality.
12. Resolve ME issues/challenges and follow up tooling and sub-contract vender qualification and project progress.
