A graduate of Boston College, Peter Black holds a bachelor of arts in English literature, as well as a master of business administration in accounting and finance from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business. He joined Wynnefield Capital as an equity research analyst in 1999, conducting financial modeling to inform new investment strategies, before spending several years as a portfolio manager with the firm. From 2011 to 2014, Peter Black conducted performance evaluations of the firm’s analysts as director of research.
Currently, Mr. Black serves as managing partner and chief executive officer for Philanthropy Capital Management, LLC, a firm he founded in 2015 and has grown to generate 17.2% in annual returns. The firm combines financial management with philanthropy, donating 20 percent of its carried interest to a variety of charitable organizations.
In addition to his leadership role with Philanthropy Capital Management, Mr. Black has board experience with several public companies, including serving as chairman of the compensation committee and a member of the audit committee with DLH Holdings Corp in Atlanta. In his free time, Peter Black enjoys golf, tennis, and traveling.
