My academic and professional training has taken me through the bench to bed-side process of neuromodulatory technology for rehabilitation after neurological trauma, from conception and design, to preclinical and clinical studies.
Developed and implemented in computational and pre-clinical studies a closed-loop adaptive controller for functional electrical stimulation of respiratory muscles for treatment and recovery from hypoventilation to improve patient health.
Assisted in pre-clinical studies investigating the use of longitudinal intrafascicular electrodes for recording of neural signals. Research eventually led to the first-in-human trial of a sensory neural-prosthesis.
