Working at the International Trade department,of the firm, I provided clients legal advice on their contractual position in cross-border trade disputes and the EU sanctions imposed on Russia. Conducting legal proceedings before the court such as the attachment of bunkers and the execution of a foreign judgment in the Netherlands and forced sale of garnished goods was also part of my work. Furthermore, I performed due diligence for the purpose of the international acquisition of a transport company.

Providing legal advice on terminal and ship building contracts, trade sanctions, compliance with EU regulations as well as wet and dry shipping issues. Representing clients in Dutch courts and arbitration (ICC, UNUM, NAI). My client base consisted of ship owners and their operators, insurance companies, (sub)contractors in the offshore industry, (trade) banks, cargo interests and traders. Additionally, I gave presentations on the legal aspects of autonomous shipping on a regular basis.

Designated claims handler for claims on large infrastructural projects (Public Private Partnerships) such as the sea-locks in IJmuiden, the Netherlands (the biggest in the world) under Construction-all-Risk insurance (CAR) and Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance policies. Personal injury claims from crew and offshore personel were also my responsibility. Acquisition and client management were important parts of the job as well. JLT Netherlands B.V. predominately brokered CAR, PI, Hull & Machinery and P&I insurances in the UK, Norway and the Netherlands.
