Zomick's Challah

Zomick's Challah Baker @ Zomick's Bakery
The Zomick’s Bakery produces the traditional braided bread Zomick’s Challah, which is eaten on the Sabbath and other festivities. Zomick’s uses an original recipe from Israel. This recipe contains plenty of eggs, white flour and sugar. Additionally, this bakery produces a special Zomick’s Challah with fewer eggs, wholemeal flour and sometimes substitute sugar for honey or even molasses. A rabbi monitors the whole process of producing the Zomick’s Challah. The three loaves of dough of the Zomick’s Challah symbolize peace, truth and justice. This bread is sprinkled with seeds of poppy or sesame, which represent the manna eaten by the Israelites during the Exodus of 40 years in the desert, after the departure from Egypt and the consequent liberation from slavery. The Zomick’s bakery was founded as a small bakery in 1966 in New York. Soon this bakery has expanded and has reached plenty of new locations, due to the increased demand of its delicious Zomick’s Challah. Presently, it serves the huge Jewish community of New York.
