A multi-disciplinary designer integrates ecology and art into daily life to benefit body and mind.

TAOYUAN, Taiwan - July 26, 2023 - PRLog -- Currently, whether it's AI computations, Bitcoin mining, or advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes, they all consume massive amounts of electricity. The impact of global warming is increasingly severe. Despite such times, there are still people quietly dedicating themselves to the cause. Dr. Hung-Chih Lu (盧鴻智博士) is one such individual who continues to persist in single-handedly pursuing eco-friendly technology and artistic public service initiatives. He self-funds these endeavors and never sought fundraising, accepting Donations, or getting sponsorships. He solely relies on income from his projects. Dr. Lu has more than a hundred inventions, with 30 of them being patented. Apart from projects he collaborates on with others or companies, any patents he applies for independently are not maintained after approval. Instead, he allows his inventions to become public goods, rather than being exclusive to any particular company, ensuring that everyone can benefit from them.

A study published in [Science Advances] found that prolonged exposure to green plants may extend average lifespan by 2.5 years.

Research by Professor Semir Zeki, a neurobiologist at the University of London, revealed that when individuals view art they find beautiful, it triggers dopamine release in the brain.

Dr. Hung-Chih Lu's approach involves transforming entire spaces into works of art. He mentioned that AI has deeply penetrated various industries. While current AI architecture and interior design might be lacking and only serve as references in the free versions, the paid professional versions can automatically generate construction CAD drawings. It's just a matter of time before AI completely replaces conventional design methods.

In figure 1, outdoor ecological landscapes are integrated with interior space design, creating indoor ecological spaces, especially in high-rise buildings where ground space is limited. Creating elaborate landscapes with trees, waterfalls, and rock features is relatively easy on the ground floor, but it becomes challenging to replicate on higher floors.

In figure 2, the ceiling is used as a canvas, where artwork is painted onto it. Ceiling murals require looking upward, making the composition more concise to simplify the painting process. Even so, the ceiling is divided into 4x8=32 sections, each outlined with charcoal before painting. The left image in Image 2 combines the imagery of whales and rivers in an abstract art style, representing the "Ecological Rhythm," while the right image adopts a paper-cutting art style to portray "Cirrus Clouds and Blue Skies."

✓Interior design combining art and ecology • Studies have found that the average life expectancy of long-term exposure to green plants can be extended by 2.5 years. • Studies have found that when a person looks at beautiful artwork, it triggers dopamine into the brain • Incorporate ecology and art into interior design to help the body and mind.
