A daring and highly-skilled SWAT team are called to the scene of an airliner crash, where not only is a princess on board, but also a prime minister of a country in the midst of a revolution. In the final hours before the midnight deadline, the team faces an unexpected obstacle, as an unauthorized but highly efficient hacker tries to take over the commanding computer. The outcome is a race to save all of the passengers, both human and not, and the lives of the rescue team, who are expected to fail. As the clock counts down, it seems to be mission impossible, but one by one, the team makes incredible sacrifices for the greater good of the mission. Adipose tissues contain a network of chemical messengers that regulate energy homeostasis, including adiponectin, leptin, and neuropeptide Y. However, how these signaling systems interact and interact with dietary intake is not known. To address this question, we are proposing a unique interdisciplinary approach that combines the use of genetically-modified mouse models and novel, sensitive, and quantitative biochemical techniques.
