Selected Works of RKCW 

在台北創意產業經過約十年的工作歷練之後，吳國強於2008年至荷蘭進修，進而畢業於烏特列支藝術大學的編輯設計碩士學位。在他旅居西歐期間，曾在阿姆斯特丹實習工作於不同的專案，並於瑞士洛桑參與過印刷實務的經驗。目前他經營一間視覺/編輯設計工作室於台北，同時曾在臺北藝術大學兼任講師與參與草創設計社團田田圈文創工作群。身為藝術與設計相關從業人士，他持續致力於社會體制內外的設計方法鍛鍊與藝術事件實踐。國強的創作導向於以文字編輯作基礎的具象詩般的表現模式，有時會滲入圖繪作為手段，以企圖文結合的傳播途徑。其專研於字學的結構與解構，在編組圖（影）像與詮釋文本時具敏銳直指人心的感知性。他在應用不同多樣的印製材質上特別關注細節，希冀給觀者視覺加乘觸覺的雙重感受。他試圖利用這種種溝通方法去喚起觀者反觀、內省以及冷諷的思考，而這種昭示通常能夠揭露現代社會中人性不同面向的荒謬本質。其專精於：書題、插畫、品牌設定與咨詢、編輯、資訊圖學、平面影像以及裝置既展場視覺；曾經主導操手過的展演視覺有：《一一重構・楊德昌回顧展》（2023，臺北市立美術館）、《藏珎——東亞書寫的視域》（2022，桃園市立美術館 / 橫山書法藝術館）、《順天聚藝・共享珍寶》（2022，臺南美術館）、《舉起鏡子迎上他的凝視：臺灣攝影首篇（1869-1949）》（2021，國家攝影文化中心台北館）、《烈日疊影：何昧典藏早期海端鄉影像故事展》（2020，臺東海端鄉布農族文化館）、《借來的翅膀：王大閎的建築、文學與科幻》（2019，台北市立美術館）、《少女的祈禱》（2018，台北南海藝廊）、《未來道人》（2016，台北當代藝術中心）、《竹・空間・想像》（2015，羅東文化工場）、《物非物》（2014，台北北平東路藝術村）、《台灣現代詩外譯展》（2014，台北紀州庵）、《蟾蜍行動——鄰里起「哄」藝術節》（2013，台北蟾蜍山）以及《這不是一座台灣館》（2013，威尼斯雙年展）。

Ralph Kuo Chiang Wu graduated with a MA degree in Editorial Design from Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht the Netherlands in 2009, after 10 years working experience in the creative industries in Taiwan. He's worked in Amsterdam and Lausanne respectively, while he stayed in Western Europe. He was a design lecturer at Taipei National University of Arts, a core member of the Tieniencircle Creative Group, and currently running his own graphic/editorial design studio based in Taipei. As a design professional and an art practitioner, he's constantly dedicated himself to design methodology and art drill in and out of the system of our society. Ralph's practice is toward to editorial and text-based artistic presentations, with certain graphics as instruments, in order to tells stories by combining literal meanings and its characteristics. He's trained in de/constructive typography, with a subtle sensibility in composing heart-stirring illustrated/photographic images and storytelling. He pays particular attention to the details while utilizing different materials in prints for viewers' cognition, which is not just for seeing but 'touching'. The communication he tries to convey to the audiences is frequently innermost, introspective and ironic, yet it somehow reveals various aspects of modern life as well as the imagery of the absurd entity known as humanity. His specialties: calligraphy, lettering, illustration, branding, editorial, infographic, photography, installation and exhibition (spatial) design.
